Hikvision Network Design with Hikvision Switches – Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP)

Hikvision Network Design with Hikvision Switches – Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP)

This course covers the advanced subject of two versions of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) used by all switches within a network environment.  Spanning tree allows for the creation of redundant loops within the network to provide an addition path if a network connection is lost.  STP stops broadcast storms from propagating throughout the network while providing a self-healing redundancy in the network backbone.  During the hands-on labs, students will understand the implementation of RSTP and the selection process of the ROOT BRIDGE which becomes the center of the network.  Through manual configuration we can determine the best paths for all network traffic while providing for the critical redundancy in case of a failure of a single connection.
